About My1099Taxes.com
My1099Taxes.com was built by a self-employed business owner who got tired of overpaying for tax estimates and guessing at quarterly payments. If you've ever stared at a 1099 form wondering "how much of this do I actually owe?", this site was built for you.
Why This Site Exists
I run a delivery and logistics business in Southern California. Every year, I deal with the same tax headaches that every self-employed person faces: calculating self-employment tax, figuring out quarterly estimated payments, deciding whether an S-Corp election makes sense, and tracking down every possible deduction.
Most of the "free" tax calculators I found online were either lead-generation tools that wanted my email before showing results, oversimplified widgets that ignored state taxes entirely, or outdated calculators still using last year's tax brackets. I wanted something better: a fast, accurate, no-nonsense calculator that just works — no signup required, no data collected, no strings attached.
So I built one. Then I built it for all 50 states. Then I kept going.
What Makes Our Calculators Different
Every calculator on My1099Taxes.com is built with a few non-negotiable principles:
100% free, no signup ever. You'll never hit a paywall, email gate, or "create an account to see your results" screen. The calculators work the instant the page loads.
Your data never leaves your device. All calculations happen directly in your browser using JavaScript. We don't send your income, deductions, or any financial data to a server. There's nothing to hack because we never have it in the first place.
Updated for the current tax year. Our calculators use the latest IRS tax brackets, Social Security wage base, standard mileage rates, and standard deduction amounts. We update the data every fall when the IRS publishes new figures for the upcoming tax year.
State-specific calculations. Federal self-employment tax is only part of the picture. We calculate state income tax for all 50 states and DC, including graduated brackets, flat rates, surcharges, and state-specific deductions.
Built for speed. Our site is a static site hosted on a global CDN. There are no server-side calculations, no database queries, and no loading spinners. The calculator is ready before you finish reading the headline.
Who This Site Is For
My1099Taxes.com is designed for the millions of Americans who earn self-employment income and need to understand their tax obligations. That includes freelancers, independent contractors, gig workers (Uber, DoorDash, Instacart, etc.), sole proprietors, consultants, and anyone else who receives a 1099-NEC or 1099-K.
Whether you're a first-time freelancer trying to understand why self-employment tax is 15.3%, or an experienced consultant optimizing your quarterly payments and deduction strategy, our tools are built to give you clear, accurate estimates in seconds.
Important Disclaimer
My1099Taxes.com provides estimates for informational and educational purposes only. Our calculators are not a substitute for professional tax advice. Tax situations can be complex, and individual circumstances vary. We strongly recommend consulting with a qualified tax professional — such as a CPA or enrolled agent — for advice specific to your situation, especially for major decisions like S-Corp elections, complex deductions, or multi-state filing.
While we work hard to keep our data accurate and current, tax laws change frequently. We update our calculators annually but cannot guarantee that every figure reflects the most recent legislative changes.
